Wet or Dry?
When dry, the Eye Pad does not make good contact with the eye, but the Eye Pad can also be used effectively as a moist compress.
Dampen the Eye Pad and then steam it in a vegetable steamer (or in a microwave for no more than 30-40 seconds!). You can then shape the Eye Pad by working the charcoal granules directly over the eyes. You can place a dry or hot damp towel over the Eye Pad to keep in the warmth. As long as it stays moist there will be a drawing soothing effect.
Can you wash the Eye Pad?
Yes, you can wash the Eye Pad in cold or warm water. Leave it in the sun to dry.
How long is the Eye Pad good for?
We are told by the manufacturer that the Eye Pad can be used for up to a year. The Eye Pad will eventually become contaminated with “pollutants”. We are told the best way to extend the life of the Eye Pad is to expose it for several hours to direct warm sunshine.
What is the Eye Pad Made From?
The Pad is made from 100% Cotton. Granular Charcoal is sewn inside. The straps are cotton of the same material with a velcro piece on each end to adjust for small heads and big heads (and some bull heads ;)
