VetDtox™ Powder
VetDtox™ is a high quality activated carbon. It can be added to animal feed, drinking water, or milk as an antidote for poisoning, to help prevent scours in calves, as an aid in treating parvovirus in dogs, or aid in the recovery of horses from founder (Laminitis). Added side benefit is its ability to help control animal odors.
Vet Dtox™ is also used extensively in various animal wounds.

Vet Dtox™ is a 100% activated charcoal and complies with the US Food Chemical Codex. It is used in animal feeds as an antidote for poisoning and to control diarrhea - e.g. as a result of food poisoning. It is vegetable-based and able to adsorb numerous harmful or undesirable substances that may be present in the gastrointestinal tract. An added side benefit is its ability to help control animal odors.
Target animals include: Horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, poultry, and birds.
Vet Dtox™ has no special warnings or precautions.
It may be used (as far as is known) during pregnancy and lactation.
It is administered orally, preferably in the feed, drinking water or milk.
This product will interact with certain medications (especially estrus suppressant drugs) preventing their absorption.
There is no worry of overdose.
Withdrawal period: Zero days.
Shelf-life: In excess of 3 years.
Special precautions for storage: Keep well sealed during storage.

Dosages for diarrhea:
Horses, cattle 50 - 200gm
Foals, calves, pigs, sheep, goats 15 – 50gm
Piglets, lambs, dogs, cats 3 – 10gm
Poultry, birds 1 – 2gm
1 Tablespoon of powder = 10 grams
16 Tablespoons = 1 cup
10 cups = 1 lb
Dosage for poisoning: 0.75 g per kg body weight.
Approx. 1 Tablespoon per 30 lbs body weight

5.0 Target animals: Horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs, cat, poultry and birds.
5.1 Indications: An aid in the treatment of poisoning and diarrhea - e.g. as a result of food poisoning - for all of the named target species.
5.2 Contra-indications: The veterinary surgeon should be alerted immediately in the event of poisoning. Consult the veterinary surgeon if diarrhea symptoms persist or recur. The use of Veterinair can result in nonabsorption (or else inadequate absorption) of certain medicaments or feed components. If in doubt, consult the veterinary surgeon.
5.3 Undesirable effects: Use of this preparation will produce black faeces.
5.4 Special warnings and special precautions for use: None.
5.5. Use during pregnancy and lactation: This medicinal product can (as far as is known) be used during pregnancy without any difficulties, providing it is used as directed.
5.6 Interactions: Concomitant treatment with certain medicaments (especially oestrus suppressants) may result in the latter not being absorbed, or being inadequately absorbed.
